Products & Services:

The aim of this website is to show my portfolio to the world and provide the public with a chance to purchase any photographs that catch their attention.

My work is available in mediums such as:

I am also available for assignment work.

(1)  Stock Photography

All images displayed in my online portfolio are available to purchase as low or high resolution stock images (for editorial or commercial use).  I offer rights managed (RM) and rights protected (RP - rights managed with exclusivity) licenses.  I keep an open mind to client’s requests and needs, and therefore set unique terms for each individual license.  The aim of this more flexible approach is to allow clients to tailor the license parameters to suit their requirements.  I hope that by doing this the clients can achieve maximum results by using the image to its full potential.

My portfolio is fully searchable, as all photographs have been designated special keywords, which describe the contents and subject.  I hope this will allow prospective clients to find exactly what they are looking for.

I offer a stress free, efficient and quick stock license and image providing process.  Once usage terms have been agreed, images will immediately be made available to the buyer.  This can be achieved in a variety of ways to suit client’s needs.  They can be emailed, made available as downloads from this site, or saved to CD / DVD and sent by post.  All files will be tailored to suit customer’s demands.  Such demands might include specific file format (TIFF or JPEG), file size, file resolution or image dimensions.  A signed and dated copy of the terms of use of the license will also be forwarded to the buyer.

As part of my service, I offer prospective clients a full licensing history of any image’s use.  This allows clients to make sure competitors have not already used a certain image, and also limits the possibility of over-exposure of the same image in the marketplace.  Details which might be supplied include:

  • Name of publication
  • Type of Publication eg. magazine, brochure, calendar, website etc.
  • Publication’s geographic distribution and exposure eg.  regional, national, international etc.
  • Image location within the publication eg.  cover, back cover, inside page
  • Image size within the publication eg.  A4, full page, two page spread, ½ page, 10cmx20cm, 500x300 pixels etc.
  • Size of print run eg.  under 1000, 50000 to 250000, 1 million to 3 million etc.
  • Length of print run eg.  1 month, 6 months, 1 year etc.
  • Exclusivity rights eg.  exclusive or non-exclusive

The more sensitive details of the license (such as names, addresses, agreed fees etc.) will, under no circumstances, be disclosed.  For more details, please read the Privacy Policy page.

I am also fully aware that the parameters of client’s projects might change several times during development and approval processes.  Significant changes in the duration or geographic scope of a campaign might mean that some of the specific license terms have to be re-negotiated.  Although such re-negotiating is time consuming and regrettable, it is part and parcel of the stock photography process.  As such, all requests for license changes will be accepted without complaint or objection and will be dealt with in a swift and efficient manner.

For a more detailed explanation of the ordering, purchasing and delivery process please read the Order & Purchase page.

(2)  High Quality Prints:

All images displayed in my online portfolio are available to purchase as high quality prints.  The entire printing process is done by a professional lab which uses the latest Fuji products.  The lab uses Fuji’s Frontier 590 Digital Minilab printers and Fuji’s Fujicolor Crystal Archive photographic paper.

The Frontier 590 printer uses a combination of red, green and blue lasers and state-of the-art CP-49E chemical processing to produce outstanding results.

Fuji Crystal Archive is a resin-based paper that is noted for its unmatched archival quality.  It demonstrates exceptional resistance to both colour fading and staining.  Under normal display conditions, the paper will show no fading for between 60-70 years.  Furthermore, the paper is not predicted to crack, discolour or yellow for over 100 years.  It offers excellent sharpness and an outstanding reproduction of the entire color spectrum. Profound reds, clear yellows, pure whites and beautiful skin tones are especially notable.  It has long been considered the finest color photographic paper available and is the choice of many professional photographers and commercial labs.

This combination of the printing technology and paper produce prints with sharp images, rich accurate colours and lifelong longevity.  All prints can be printed on matte or gloss paper.  If you would like to learn about the differences between the two finishes, please read the Matte V Gloss page.

To read more about Fuji’s Frontier 590, CP-49E chemicals or Crystal Archive paper, please visit the Fuji web site.

To read two independent studies of Fuji’s Crystal Archive paper please read the following pages.  One study was done by the much respected Wilhelm Imaging Research.  The other was conducted by Precision Camera.

In order to minimize weight and reduce shipping costs, no matting, framing, or glass is provided with purchases.  This also gives customers complete freedom when choosing frame and mat margins, colours and styles.  All prints are titled, signed and dated on the back.  A signed copy of the story which accompanies each image on the website is also included.

Listed below are just some of the image sizes which are available to order.  These sizes were chosen to conform to aspect ratio restrictions imposed by standard frame and mat manufacturers.  Buying prints in these sizes ensures that expensive custom frames or mats do not have to be made specially.  Instead standard commercial frames and mats can be purchased from retailers at a much lower cost.  These mats or frames are not sold on this website.  Their dimensions have been included to help prospective buyers to select prints that match the more common and easily obtainable frame sizes.

Just to confuse matters though, common print sizes and frame sizes differ depending on what part of the world you live in.  To accommodate everyone, I have provided images that fit both, US (inch) and European (cm) frame, mat and print standards.  For a more detailed explanation of the complications introduced by differing aspect ratios and frame standards, please read the Aspect Ratio page.

Because I use a professional lab to print, I am able to offer a wide range of paper sizes.  As a result, I am not restricted to just these sizes.  Other sizes can easily be printed on request.  Such freedom allows clients to custom make frames or mats which they feel best suit the photograph, instead of relying on pre-made frames and mats available in shops.  In such cases, first decide which aspect ratio you prefer, and then select the desired image dimensions.  Next, just contact me with your chosen dimensions and I will take care of the rest.

Because I can print on a variety of different paper sizes, I can also print photographs to fit odd sized or older frames and mats.  Just contact me with the inner dimensions of the mat opening, and I will ensure the purchased image fits snuggly.

Most photographers and artists would say that you should fit the frame and mat around the image.  However the prices of frames today means that, for financial reasons, others believe that fitting the image around the frame is more practical.  I give you the option to do both.  I am fully aware that many people are a bit apprehensive about buying prints online.  I hope by offering such flexible sizes, that potential customers will feel more confident about the success of their purchase.

* Because of paper size restrictions, this image size is non-standard.  It will still fit a standard frame but a custom mat might have to be cut specially.  For a photograph this size though, it would be scandalous not to get a custom coloured mat cut to suit the image contents.

The ‘Image Size’ refers to the actual printed photograph size.  I always ensure that the ‘Paper Size’ is slightly bigger than the image size.  This results in a plain white border around all four sides of every print, which allows for safe shipping, handling and easy mounting and framing.  Such a border is especially important for large prints.

The ‘Image Aspect Ratio’ is explained in detail on the Aspect Ratio page.  Please take a moment to read it.  It is important.  The images displayed on this site are of either 2:3 or 3:4 proportions. The aspect ratio for each image is detailed underneath to help you choose the best ratio and therefore image size to suit the photograph.

(3)  Assignment Work:

If you like my work, and would like me to capture some specific scene(s) in Cambodia, please don’t hesitate to contact me with details of what you are looking for.  From there, we can try to negotiate a contract and quote.  At the very least, I should be able to provide you with some advice or recommendations.  There is no assignment too small or too great.

NOTES:

In order to facilitate quick loading, the file size and resolution of all images on this site have been reduced to a minimum.  Unfortunately, such operations affect the quality of the images.  Please be aware that the quality and sharpness of all full-sized image files and photographic prints offered on this site are of a much higher standard.

Any colour image on this site can be converted to black and white.  If you spot a particular image that you think would look well as a black and white, please don’t hesitate to contact me with details.  I will do the conversion and then make a sample image available for you to view.  If you are impressed with what you see, it can be ordered as a photographic print or high resolution file.

Some images (very few) may have had some cropping from the original, or been taken with an older camera which produced low resolution files.  On some occasions, the quality of such images might suffer if printed too large.   If an enquiry for a large print of a low resolution file is received, I will make a test print and will let you know if it was a success.
